The Tank concept came into play about four years ago when a couple of brothers, Matt and Chris Nooyen were
making their mark in the music industry, owning several CD stores in Wellington. While successful, the two bros
wanted to start something different, something new and more importantly, something you couldn’t download.
Enter the Tank concept…
Following a stint in London catering more than a few posh dos, Helena Stokman joined the team at Tank,
bringing with her an obsession with all things nutritional and a passion and insight into the importance of no
nonsense, fresh and natural ingredients.
With kick arse business acumen forced with sturdy nutritional know how, the trio started to look into the
market. What they found was pretty interesting. Most so called juice bars, were using next to no real fruit
in their smoothies, making them no different to a milkshake bought from your local dairy. And that’s where
we stand out…we wanted to give our customers REAL smoothies and juices made with
REAL fruit and vege, so you get the REAL benefits. As far as we’re
concerned additives, preservatives, GM foods, added salt and sugar are dirty words; you’ve got plenty of
joints offering you that. Tank offer you the real thing, it’s what we’ve built our name on.
We’re religious about giving the people the most honest, fresh and healthy fresh fruit and vege experience
